Last fall Lenny found me while I was out walking my dog, Lily. He is fixed and had a collar on so I was hoping that I would be able to find his family. Unfortunately, after filing found reports, posting found dog flyers, and having him scanned for a microchip, I was unable to locate them. He was temporarily adopted but returned because his new mom felt that she couldn’t give him enough attention. I am relocating to Nashville and am unable to foster him any longer.
Lenny is white with brown patches. He looks like a shepherd but with a really adorable droopy face. He is about 85 lbs and the vet’s best guess is that he is between 3 and 4 years old. Lenny is great with other dogs and is curious about cats, but for the most part leaves them alone. I haven’t seen him around children much, but I feel that he would do better in a home without kids. As with a lot of shepherds, Lenny is protective of his food. He did bite my hand in April when I attempted to touch him while he was at his food bowl. Lenny is a snuggle bear. He loves to be around the people he loves. He will lean on you if he is sitting next to you. He loves a good scratch. He has allergies that manifest as itchy skin so if he is without his allergy medication, his skin turns pink and he tends to chew on things so he doesn’t chew on himself. He does like to run (one has to wonder if this is how he ended up with me) so an extra eye needs to be kept on him while the door is open. I am praying that someone sees in Lenny what I do and finds it in their heart to make him a permanent part of their family. To reach his foster e-mail jbalonge@hotmail.com Posted 8-30-09. |
